procedures for 888 Turk Street
PICK UP & DROP OFF
For a seamless experience, please follow our outlined procedures, updated August 2024.
Instructions
- Drop off time is from 8-8:30am for all students.
- Pick up time is 3:30-3:45pm for all students on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, with pickup on Wednesdays being between 2:20 -2:35pm. There will be a staff member in front of the building on Turk Street helping to identify cars and bringing students out to be picked up. Please put your laminated sign in the window so that it is easier to see which child you are picking up.
- Once the pick-up time ends on each day, your student will be asked to wait inside the building. At the end of pick-up time, there will not be a Millennium staff member standing outside. You will need to call the school or your student and have them come outside to meet you independently.
- Turk Street is a one way street with traffic traveling in a westerly direction. The school is located on the corner of Turk and Gough. Gough Street is a one way street with traffic traveling in a southerly direction.
- If you are driving in a westerly direction On Turk Street – heading towards Gough Street – feel free to pull into the white zone (see blue line above). Always queue up at the very front of the line rather than stopping in the middle of the white zone, to allow for the maximum number of vehicles. During drop-off please try to spend no more than one minute in the white zone. Only your student should disembark your car. No parents or siblings will be allowed around the entrance of or inside the building.
- If you are driving in a southerly direction on Gough Street – heading towards Turk Street – please DO NOT block traffic on Gough Street, as there is heavy car traffic, and this is dangerous. You may also be ticketed. Please park in a designated parking spot on Gough Street if that is your preferred route.
- If your student will walk from the corner of Gough and Turk or Franklin and Turk to our front door, make sure you see a staff person watching the sidewalk and corner for incoming students.
- Please ask your student to be ready to go with all of their belongings as soon as you are first in the queue for drop off.
- Please do not exit your vehicle; do not leave your car unattended or parked in the white zone.
- Please do not double-park, as your car may be ticketed or towed.
- If you need to park your car, please find street parking in the area, which is generally metered.
- For the safety of your student; it is very important for them to be greeted by a staff person upon arrival. If you are running late, please notify Aya Carpio at 415-992-8520. Please make sure that your child is connected with a Millennium staff member before you leave the school, as children who are late are unaccounted for unless they have been received by a staff member.
- Those traveling by bike can wheel their bikes into the building and store them in the bike rack in our front courtyard.
- For pick up, if someone other than those individuals listed as authorized on the pickup list will be picking up your child, we must have notification from you that this is permissible. State law does not allow us to release your child to anyone other than those individuals designated as authorized pickups. Please notify us as soon as you have any edits to your authorized pick-up list.
- For those who are allowing their students to self-dismiss, your child can leave campus if you are not present.
- There will be a late fee for late pick-ups for students staying in the building after 3:45pm, unless previously arranged. You will be charged the regular after-care of $18 per hour billed in fifteen minute increments.
