Welcome Lindsay Berk, STEM Guide

We're delighted to welcome Lindsay Berk as our second founding Guide, bringing a deep focus on STEM learning (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics). Lindsay brings extensive experience with and passion for progressive education, including 12+ years of STEM teaching and curriculum design. Her experience with youth also includes outdoor education, having led backpacking expeditions throughout the California wilderness.

Lindsay began her career as a Field Scientist in Kauai, then transitioned to STEM teaching at both middle and high school levels. She particularly loves helping students design engaging, relevant "passion projects" in science, and previously founded and coached Science Olympiad, with events in robotics, aviation, and forensics. She also brings experience with Socratic seminar techniques, which will be a core element of Millennium's learning approach.

Lindsay is a graduate of UCLA, with subsequent Master's degrees from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill and the University of Washington. She's also a recipient of the Leonore-Annenberg Teaching Fellowship. Most recently, Lindsay has been a Science Teacher and Department Chair at a middle school in Seattle.

Please help us welcome Lindsay to our growing community at Millennium School!
