REALIZE OUR VISION:

A CAMPAIGN FOR MILLENIUM

This is an exciting time for Millennium as we embark on a transformative new chapter in the history of our school, moving to 888 Turk Street. Securing our own facilities is an important aspect of our 5-year Strategic Plan, enabling us to further realize our vision as a Whole Self Education lab school.

Securing our new home at 888 Turk Street enables us to provide more innovative learning space for our current community of students and guides, meet our growing enrollment goals, provide enriching after-school and summer programs, create a teaching center for parents and educators, and realize our mission to be a model of innovative adolescent education. This unique property, owned by the Catholic Archdiocese of San Francisco, and formerly used by Chinese American Middle School, provides a unique opportunity to secure new facilities.

As we embark on the biggest effort yet to strengthen Millennium, a defining moment in our history, we look to our valued community of parents, alumni families, grandparents, faculty, and friends, to make our vision a reality. This campaign represents an exciting opportunity for the entire community to deepen their connection to Millennium tangibly and create a legacy of extraordinary learning experiences for the next generation of Millennium students.

Millennium’s day-to-day operating budget is based on two critical revenue sources: tuition and fundraising. Tuition makes up about 85% of our budget, and we rely on our Annual Fund campaign to provide unrestricted funding to meet the gap between the real cost of the Millennium experience and our tuition revenue. As a young school, we do not have an endowment to draw upon for additional income.

To maintain the long-term financial health of the school, this Capital Campaign will raise funds specifically dedicated to the enhancement of our space to benefit the student and faculty experience at Millennium. To fund these priorities fully, this campaign seeks to raise $1,000,000.

Students at Millennium have benefited from the generous financial support of families that came before them.  Now it’s your turn to look ahead and create spaces that are transformative for our current and future students. We invite you to learn more about the campaign and make your gift today!

Capital campaign FAQ

  • Simply put, we are outgrowing our space. Millennium needs larger classrooms, adult working spaces, and more flexible teaching spaces to live out its mission and provide optimal conditions for learning. Much like Sterne School or Waldorf, when they occupied our current space, we are now ready for our own home!

  • The space is specifically designed with Middle School students in mind (Chinese American International School’s (CAIS) Middle School currently occupies the building and it became available). CAIS’s recent purchase and renovation of Mercy High School has allowed them to consolidate multiple campuses, and they are leaving in June 2024.

  • Our new facilities will provide even more space for our current community’s unique experiential learning designs, as well as meet demand for growing enrollment, enrich our after-school and summer programs, and realize our mission to be a model of innovative adolescent education… all while staying connected to the Mission district and our existing real-world partners.

The space features 18,500 Square feet of learning spaces.
