Salon Series #3: What is Good Health?

  • Avenue 3361 Mission St San Francisco, CA (map)

What is Good Health?
"Health" class or PE often brings to mind forced runs around the track, or other underwhelming athletic experiences. What if we could step back from this, and ask what it would mean to be deeply healthy physically as an adolescent. Can we expect degrees of mastery from every student in an athletic pursuit? What would we want students to know about what they eat? Is there a place for mind-body practices like yoga or aikido?

This Salon event will be hosted at Avenue, a meeting space at 3361 Mission St. We'll provide light food. Because of the small-group nature of these conversations, we have a limited number of spots available, and ask that you reserve a seat if interested, and please open the seat if you become unavailable to attend. We look forward to a rich conversation!

About Millennium School's Salon Series
Millennium School's Salons are conversations about essential topics in education. In each conversation, a small group of 10-20 people dives into a key topic around what matters most in adolescent education, what school could ideally be, and how to make it happen. We aim to draw a range of people with important perspectives: parents, students, educators, scientists, researchers and others. No expertise in the topic is required; an open and curious mind is all we ask!
