We Have a Home!

We're delighted to announce that we've secured a temporary space for our first school year, while our long-term building at 1465 Folsom Street is under construction. Our long-term building - full details here - will create an exceptional space for middle schoolers to invent, design, and create; it is a "living village" designed to express our values as a progressive middle school. Because construction will last into our first year, we've been searching the city high and low for a temporary space that also supports our vision and will energize our students and faculty. We're thrilled to announce that we've found such a space.

For our inaugural 2016-2017 school year, we've created a partnership to occupy part of the brand new, state-of-the-art Don Fisher Clubhouse of the Boys & Girls Club. The building is located at 380 Fulton Street, just behind the San Francisco Opera, and a block from Jefferson Square Park for outdoor play. Inside, the clubhouse offers incredible facilities - a full gym, learning center, maker spaces, classroom space, even a recording studio. The following photos share a few glimpses of the space, and a full 360 tour can be viewed here.

As a bonus, we are close enough to our long-term space that students can observe the construction, with opportunities to participate in design choices as their future school building comes to life.

Here's to a great year ahead!
